Effects
Text, username, cursor, entrance, page, glow and background effects, and how to configure them.
Customize → Effects covers everything animated: text, cursor, entrance, page and background effects, plus glow.

- Profile Entry Gate — the screen a visitor sees before the profile itself — here set to Spotlight
- Cursor Effects — what the cursor does on your page: Snowflakes, Rain, Image Trail, Fairy Dust or Canvas Cursor
- Click Sound — a sound played when a visitor clicks; None turns it off
- Profile Card Effects — how the card reacts to the cursor — here Hover Depth
- Card Border Effect — the treatment of the card outline — here Glow, with its own colour picker below
Text and username effects
Applied to your display name and other text. Options range from subtle (a slow shine) to loud (colour cycling, glitch). Text effects are the first thing a visitor notices — one is plenty.
About card effect
The About card has its own dedicated effect: None, Shine, Glow or Gradient.
Cursor effects
Replaces or decorates the mouse cursor while a visitor is on your profile. Invisible on touch devices, so treat it as a bonus rather than a core part of the design.
Cat
Cat is the one cursor effect with settings of its own: a pixel cat that chases the cursor, naps when left alone, washes itself and scratches at the edges of the screen. Its row in the dropdown carries a small sliders icon, and picking it opens the chooser straight away.

To come back to it later, click the sliders icon on the Cat row.
Entrance and page effects
Entrance effects animate the profile as it appears; page effects apply to the page as a whole. Keep entrance animations short — a visitor who has to wait to read your links often does not wait.
Glow effects
Glow can be applied to different parts of the profile independently — the card, the socials, the avatar. Social glow in particular pairs well with a matching accent colour.
Background effects
The largest visual choice on the page. Many background effects are configurable: they expose sliders (speed, density, size) and their own colour sections. Configure them to your palette rather than leaving the defaults.
Effects cost performance
Animated backgrounds and cursor trails run on the visitor's device. Stacking several of them makes the page stutter on mid-range phones, which is where most of your traffic is. If your profile feels sluggish, remove effects one at a time until it is smooth.
Location effects
Location effects decorate the location line on your profile, if you display one.
Try before you commit
Every effect and every slider is available in the Playground, rendered through the real profile renderer. Test combinations there, then apply the ones you keep.
